VGK Win a Big Come From Behind Victory Over
The season's largest NHL in person crowd of 7,567 hockey fans got to see the Vegas Golden Knights win an overtime thriller over the St. Louis Blues.
VGK's Jonathan Marchessault scored the game winner with just 17 seconds left on the clock in overtime - a very exciting overtime at that. Both teams had several chances to score, goalie Robin Lerner had a couple of key saves and the VGK pulled out a big win and two more points to bring their season total to 78 - best in the Western Division and 2nd best in the NHL.
Lerner really redeemed himself with some key saves in OT and the 3rd period, after a tough 2nd period in which St. Louis scored a couple of goals that appeared easily saved.
Alex Martinez also had a stand out game, scoring a goal and saving one right in front of the goal toward the end of regulation. Reilly Smith and Nic Roy also scored for the Golden Knights.
The VGK play their final regular season matchup against the Blues tomorrow in The Fortress at 7pm.
