An Enterprise Las Vegas Jewel: Exploration Peak Park, aka Mountain’s Edge Park
One of the really cool things about Enterprise and Las Vegas are the great number of parks and recreational facilities. An amazing park that you do not want to miss is Exploration Peak Park in Enterprise, which is also known as Mountain’s Edge Park.
Exploration Peak Park is located at 9700 S. Buffalo Drive in Enterprise, just south of the entrance to Mountain Edge’s master planned community and south of Blue Diamond Road.
When you first arrive in the parking lot, you will likely noticed and become entranced by the western town themed playground (complete with it’s own stagecoach). It also sports an Indian village with webteepee climbing structure and an archaeology dig site with snakes and reptiles. Of course there is other playground equipment, including swings and a water play area for those hot desert days.
What makes Exploration Peak Park different is that among the 24 park acres, it has a huge amount of open space and trails for hiking and mountain biking. On my third recent visit, I hiked up to the top of the 2,846 foot high Exploration Peak and was treated to 360 degree views of our beautiful Enterprise. The walk itself was fairly easy, attainable by most people of any age (although you would not want to attempt to take a stroller or wheelchair up there). The trails appear to be well designed and maintained, with several different options if you want to challenge yourself.
Exploration Peak Park is definitely an Enterprise jewel that you do not want to miss – still another reason I Love Enterprise. Make sure to get out and enjoy (and explore) it!
On a side note: Once I climbed Exploration Peak, I was able to see very clearly the Enterprise estate that I wrote about the other day at 9125 S. Buffalo Drive, Enterprise, NV 89113
